Work from home (WFH) has seen couches, kitchen counters and even bedrooms turn into office space.


With many people now working from home-  dresses, formals, and shoes kept in the cupboard and racks, long-forgotten has led to the creation of a new apparel category, ‘work from home’ (WFH), which a number of multi-brand retailers are promoting to drive future sales. 


Comfort, versatility, and shielding from germs have become key. Apparel brands have been taking note of this cultural shift – Myntra being one of them. 


According to it’s latest mailer, Myntra is promoting style with comfort. For the moment, when manufacturing of apparel is temporarily suspended, these products have been picked from categories like casual and athleisure with a focus on versatility, such as light-colored shirts for client calls, colourful blazers for virtual meetings and comfort essentials such as T-shirts, hoodies and jogging suits to wear at home.


Also, not to forget, people have a lot of time on their hands, and they are clicking more pictures to post on social media handles. The mailer also included apparels for those photoshoots.


Not only that, but the mailer also included ‘flirty’ dresses for the times when you have those Zoom call dates or for any time when a user is sick of their partners seeing them in pyjamas.  


WFH outfits, no doubt, are in great demand as of now. However, it is too early to say if it could be established as a category in the long run or not!
