Thanks to OTT platforms, 2020 was only bearable because we had amazing shows to binge while we pretended to work from home (come on, let’s admit it). There were innumerable new releases during quarantine, where popular shows like Mirzapur, Inside Edge, Sex Education, Hostages, etc. engaged us by releasing new seasons.

But today, we won’t be talking about those series. As the year-end approaches, we thought you might want to binge on shows (in case, you missed) that surprised us, to make the last few days merry.

Let’s have a look at recommended web shows to catch up before 2020 ends.

Queen’s Gambit
Netflix

Trailer:

It holds the record of garnering 68 million viewership in the first 28 days with a limited release. This Netflix adaptation follows an orphaned teen who aims to become the world’s best chess player.

Mismatched
Netflix

Trailer:

This recommendation may attract a few to throw coffee at us (just like the show’s theme), but it’s a decent attempt to cover teen romance and add a drama with Coding, match-making, LGBTQ, and Jaipur setting. Right dumdums?

Unsolved Mysteries
Netflix

Trailer:

Reality hits hard when it’s riddled with a good mystery, and you’ll be surprised by this honest Netlflix docu-drama. The stories are bizarre and filled with cliffhangers, which makes you ponder- what could it be?

Utopia
Amazon Prime

Trailer:

What will you do when your favorite comic book characters turn out to be real? The plot of this 2013 British adapted series has an uncanny resemblance to the present (virus-induced pandemic) world, and at times the show gets graphic.

Modern Love
Amazon Prime

Trailer:

The Emmy nominated series successfully adapts the real stories from The New York Times column of the same name. The show is an absolute delight for all the romantics.

Patal Lok
Amazon Prime

Trailer:

Actor & Producer Anushka has offered to showcase many stories, but none of them stands as dark and gripping as Patal Lok. It has a strong portrayal of visible divides in society, which makes this Amazon Prime offering,  one of the best to ever come out for the Indian audience.

Special Ops
Disney+Hotstar

Trailer:

One of the firsts to catch the limelight during the quarantine was the KK Menon starrer Special Ops. The show is filled with multiple plot twists and packaged at a fast pace, which makes it show highly binge-worthy.

Aarya
Disney + Hotstar

Trailer:

Never thought Sushmita Sen could make such an electrifying comeback. The series follows a drug trade racket, which kills Aarya (Sen’s) husband, and has ridiculed the life of her entire family. The show surprises us with brilliant performance and pleasant writing.

Sopranos
Disney + Hotstar

Trailer:

The list wouldn’t have been complete without mentioning The Sopranos. The show follows the chronicles of Tony Soprana, a family man and mobster, and his life between the two worlds.

Happy Binging.
